One whole day at SKIM

This morning I was invited to SKIM to attend a taklimat for "Project Jejak Gemilang UPSR 2009". Afi is one of the 25 students selected for this programme sponsored by Yayasan Pahang. Mummy has to confessed that initially i was a bit skeptical about the selection as the top boy in Afi's class 6 wira is not selected...and the fact that Abang is very very "rajin" doing his homework just complete the puzzle. However, Afi has explained that this programme is only for anak pahang either you or your father or mother has to be borned in Pahang. During recess, I managed to meet the top boy and he told me that he's from Trengganu....opps...

So during this talk, we were explained why these 25 students are being chosen and what is the aim.....The whole purpose of this programme is not only getting 5As but they are aiming for quality As....i am scared to death hearing that...and i was hit further with some statistics about the 2008 UPSR achievement in Kuantan.....in 2008, there were 6832 students sat for upsr and ONLY 983 students got 5As and that only contitutes 14.39%..in other word there were approximately 85% not getting one.....and for the whole of Pahang only about 3000 students got 5As in 2008.....wow......and all this while I was thinking that everyone seem to be getting 5As and I was always curious about the standard of this exam comparing with my time.....wow...now I realise that this is serious business......and i am amazed with the kind of dedication the teachers are showing.....remarkable.....so basically along, you have everything on the table and you have only one choice that is to study and go for that 5As........

And as I always gertak Along, one day mummy will spend a day sitting in his classroom...and I did today.....a new student in 6 wira who has never seen mummy before told Afi that there is "pegawai pemantau" ...and those who know me...just smiling and keep on giving me salam as they passed by me....very respectful children ......

That's Along ....doing some volunteer work leading the class reading some science stuff...well this is one the things that he likes to do, the teacher told me........

Angah's worries

After maghrib, as Angah was lying on my bed..he complained that he had difficulty doing rukuk because of backpain. So I massaged his back then he started telling me that he 's having the pain for the past 2 days. Then I remember that he made a fuss yesterday or so, about he was not able to run as fast as he used to do. He told me that he chased a standard 2 boy recently and he failed to catch the boy as he felt some pain in the chess. I asked him why there is a need to chase at all, cant you just write down his name or something. He commented that it is necessary to catch the boy there and then as that poor fellow did too many mistakes (one is getting into an empty pond???)...poor kid...but he able to escape ...he..he..he..

Angah also expressing his worries if this pain he's feeling will last until April...why April????

Then he explained that in April, the school will organize their yearly sport event....Now I understand why it bothers him so much .....For the past 2 years, he's been holding the title as a top runner for his year....and angah being angah is always anxious to keep his record.....

Actually he is down for a flu....

Along jatuh basikal

Last tuesday Along felt off from bicycle while cycling to buy some karipaps for Adib ( as he told me). There are a lot of scratches on his legs and his right hip was a bit swollen. That night Adib lectured Along for quite a bit...tellling him not to play with the bicycle or he may fall down again. I later rub some ointments to the legs andAlong was screaming even before i touched his skin. Adib was there , one hand on his face- to cover his eyes and another showing me how to apply the ointment.
Adib was actually scolding me asking me to apply the ointment slowly, then i told him that i have not even applied anything yet...hearing that he was like took a deep breath and make his usual lazy eyes looking at me....

Bibik bibik Mat Dib

Somehow Adib is always very attached to the bibik. I just do not know how...I know why because of the time they spend together from monday to friday....and basically , i always remind the bibiks that their main priority is the children , since Adib is the smallest , i bet the attention is more on him.

This is Adib with bibik Gatik, she thought adib a few indonesian songs from aruna. She went back to Indon this year after being 2 years with us.

This is during farewell dinner for Bibik Gatik (the one in red). The other one is the new bibik named Bibik Rosma...Adib first called her Rossa as in Rossa-Pudar. He can really come up with such ideas......This evening Adib told me that Bibik Rosma cried in the morning and he cried along seeing the bibik crying and he is not telling me why. Then I asked the bibik what happened, and she told me , she was having conversation with Adib and just told him that she misses her boys and then asked adib what if bibik return to Indon. Then adib asked her "bibik tak suka adib ke?" and he cried.....

We laughed our heart out hearing that...and he did too, our little mischievous Mat Dib....

Gardening

We spent our weekend differently last week towards healthy living. Yes, away from the malls , we dropped shopping, window shopping, anything related to it and opt for gardening. I cannot recall the last time i did anything to the garden even the simplest thing , like watering the plants. The whole time i have been solely relying on the maids to take care of the plants and keep our garden neat and clean. They have done a good job though.

Since then , most of the plants has really grown and I have no choice but to replace the plant pot to a bigger one. That is how this whole idea of gardening during the weekend came about..No doubt a very tiring weekend but a satisfying one seeing the end result, plants were rearranged neatly and all pots are cleaner ( we scrubbed the pots ok and the floor as well)...phew...
Question, who is the mandor? No lah, Abah is taking a breather.

My favourite plant..it grows from petals, amazing right..i have no idea what it is called but i think it is one of the cactus spesies however it has no thorns....perhaps it is not ...

Hari Anugerah and PIBG for 2008

For 2 consecutive years, Angah has won himself academic prizes. This year ceremony is for 2008 achievement and Angah got 2 prizes ,one for scoring 1st position in 2 Wira and another for best in Science. Congratulations!
And this year during the PIBG meeting , mummy has been appointed as a committee member erkkkkkkk..........an anonymous had nominated me...sabar je lah....

Watikah Pengawas

Early this month, it was official that Angah is now a school prefect for SKIM. Angah has been waiting patiently to wear his pink/maroon uniform. He started the term with old outfit because only after the annoucement i.e. "Penyerahan Watikah" ceremony - then only one can wear that pink uniform. However, not wearing it did not stop him to start his duty right away on day one...I think I have mentioned earlier about him showing his list of names on the very first day of school. There were some kids who challenged him because he wore the normal school outfit.

Now, everyday he wears the uniform with pride and to certain extent we can see the sense of responsibility he carries while wearing it.

Trip to Yayasan Pahang.

Last week, on Tuesday I joined a school trip to the Yayasan Pahang. There was a campaign for saving Palestine. In the picture I am the third from the left. I watched many pictures of palestines suffering. I was sad when I watched the pictures. We were being informed about Israel's company such as Baskin Robbins, Levi's, Superman and Dunkin Donuts which we are suppose to ban. After that, the chief minister YAB Dato Sri Haji Adnan gave a very long speech about the economy and the war between Palestine and Israel. There was a group of students acting like what happened in the war. I hope the war will end with victory for Palestine. May Allah bless them. After all of that we took a meal. We ate nasi ayam. We went back to school at 3pm. I brought three bottles of mineral water back to our house from the Yayasan Pahang.THE END.............. THIS IS A LINK FOR YOU ALL,

First encounter with aunty ejin

The boys know AuntyEjin, way before Bandung , from mummy's photo album and of course from "30-something" but their first met was during our trip to Bandung...and we spent 4 days 3 nights there together shopping, eating, time in the apartment...and the outcome...just recently, Angah told me that he has decided where to go for uni and i asked where UK maybe or perhaps Australia...and he said a university in Sarawak......I am speechless!

this is actually like aunt ejin's favourite post for a picture.

Bandung 2009

Just a week after school started, we went to Bandung for our supposed to be 2008 YE holidays...since Bandung is only about shopping, we did not bring Adib with us. Along and Angah were actually not that keen with the ideas...somehow Along had this idea that Indonesia is too crowded and he may just get squeezed in the crowd...and another reason, is due to an Indonesian film, Lagenda Sundel bolong that mentioned it comes from there...so they were like being being dragged to Bandung.....But everything turns out allright...the boys enjoyed it and do not mind another shopping trip...they said in Bandung, abah and mummy said yes to most everything their fingers were pointing....well, i quote one of the boys favourite phrase "sekali-sekala"...

The ever favourite Rumah Mode

with Misha , showing off the caps.... which we can hardly see
cowboy sesat..........in one of the factory outlets

another factory outlet...
this is like "sebelum".....
and this is "selepas"..after mummy commented, "korang ni apasal mengada sangat"..he..he..he..
