Mischievous act from you know who!

Gosh...this blog has been idle for a month...it takes effort and considerable time to blog and those are what i am lacking these days. Ok i want to write about Adib today...we had this one incident today and I have to write ASAP or another scene from Adib will slip away undocumented..he..he..
This has happened a few times..one day it was headache, a severe one he would said and he would hold his head as if it will fall any seconds...then another day, sakit kaki and he could limp for a certain distance to prove his points and today, he called me crying dengan sedu sedan, telling me that he had arm pain..he was sobbing so hard that i can hardly hear what he tried to tell me but one thing for sure, i know he wanted me to tell him to stay home and skip school for the day. And I granted his wish.

When i reached home today, he quickly told me that he had the pain until 2.59pm--i really dont understand the time --why he chose the time--the 2.59pm--i dont know~anyway he said after 2.59pm , he didnt feel the pain and only then he started to play his psp again....very mischievous right~~one of its kind!

After checking with Bibik, I realised that he wanted to skip school because of "hantu bonceng". We subscribed the movie yesterday and i guess he wanted to maximise the 48 hours viewing....bibik said it was non stop from after "kafa" to dusk....the Zizan fever!

As mentioned earlier these things happened a few time already, there were days when he didnt get his way, and his acts ended with a scold from me...during those days, he would reluctantly go to school....crying sometimes, from the house until he reached the school gate....amazing how he could stop the tears once he step in the school...

We have never experienced this with the 2 older boys. I dont think we would entertain this kind of situation back then i.e. last 7 years, but for some reason with age, we are now a bit relax with Adib.Besides, the fact that Adib is such a charmer, makes it even difficult to put up a straight face! I just hope , janganlah mat dib mengarut sampai ke besar!

Aariz at 8 months

Aariz is now 8 months...he weights at 7.06kg and the length is ...lupa lah...anyway, Doctor Lee ..his paed showed me the graph..he is now has moved above the very bottom abnormal line of the growth chart...still considered as small size baby but already in the normal baby growth range.

I thought the growth was pretty slow..especially when I made comparison with other babies like Aina who is 2 weeks older but she can make a few steps now or Nash who is 3 months and weights at a whooping 8kg.....of course both of them are born at full term......our dearest Aariz is a special precious one.....Anyway, doc commented his progress is good and I am relieved!

Last 2 months back in June, Aariz had his final sight/eyes check and it was confirmed that he is free from that ROP thing..alhamdulillah...Next follow up will be June 2012.Then the hearing test....he passed the first test, but the second test which using a machine to draw certain graph showed abnormal shape of the drum and thus he is subjected to another appointment in Dec and need to undergo the whole process again phewww.... Other than those ...he smiles more often now...but only to people he knows...If you are new to him, got to strive hard for his smiles...memang mahal senyuman Aariz :)Most of the time he looks like a pretty serious baby boy...I dont have to annouce, he's taking after who, right?

Paling rajin jaga Aariz...is definitely Abang Chik/Mat Dib...and he even has a song for Aariz ...which he invented with his own melody and lyrics as below: "Abang Dib pandai, abang Dib bijak, abang Dib baik....adik tak pandai , adik tak bijak, adik tak reti"....and he repeats again and again....

Another routine to the salon

I think i have written once about letting the boys tried the salon and it seems like there's no turning back. So this was another trip to the salon, one with bieber style, one with k pop style and another with beckham spike.....but at the end , they all look the same...just SHORT!
should have just let them stick with the barber....4 times cheaper maaaa...

SKIM 2011 Sport Day

SKIM organised its "Sport Day" last sunday. With Angah holding the olahragawan title last year, this sport event was awaited by all of us, ---basically we are concerned if he can retain the title this year. Unlike last year (whereby he participated in 4 events), this year max for each student is only 3 events, so he had 3 track events i.e. 100m, 200m and 4X100mUnfortunately, Angah failed to keep his title, lost it to a standard 6 boy...Angah missed by one gold as he got a silver for the 100m run. The run is one thing but the best part for this year event was some drama surrounding a new pair of track spikes. I think I have mentioned before that his track talent is inherited from Abah. Abah was once a upon a time a sprinter. Thus Abah has all the required knowledge about the preparation--food, day-before prep, the field gear etc. We were told about the event at the very last minute, like two days before when Angah mentioned that he wanted to buy a running shoes. That saturday we went shopping to get him his new pair. It was not easy to find spikes, we went to 2 malls before we found them . There are only 2 available types for kids and we bought him the better pair of the two. However, what Angah has in mind is Nike Mercurial which dont even have his size and that shoes are for soccer. Thus , he reluctantly tried the spikes that we chose and pulled a long face. We bought the shoes anyway.

Regardless of Abah's reminder that the track spikes are to be worn without socks, he actually did and didnt even bother to tie the shoe laces properly. I think he's showing his anger and being miserable but he told me it was unintentionally. As a result , he lost his first games...He was so dissapointed that he made a lot of fuss--blaming the shoes-- in the middle of the field right after he finished the line....if only there's no teachers and friends, he would get a spank from me..Despite of that , I was worried knowing his determination in winning, so I asked Abah to console him. So Abah went to him, gave him a few "inspiring" words ( i think) and he was ok rightafter--personally we think he could have won that 100m run if only he listened earlier. True enough, his second run for the 200m, he managed to secure a gold and started to smiling away. Being a pemangku PIBG for the day, Mummy helped to present medals for a few events which inlcudes Angah's 200m. Then he won his second for 4X100m....

Only then, he told us, it was easier with the spikes...Abah final words to him was "in life be humble and dengar cakap mak ayah , jangan jadi sombong"....
He replied " Angah mana tahu".....We think he learned a good lesson that day...

Finally the overall score seeing a tie between the Red and Green teams thus they shared the title as the Best team of the year.

However, for some reason..the red team was holding the trophy like they won it alone.

Aariz at 6 months

Aariz is now 6 months ( exactly 2 days ago)...time flies huh...he was 5.7kg 2 weeks before his 6 mth birthday. His development so far...he can respond well and pay attention when you play or "agah" him. He definitely can smile back!

He had laughed twice so far... the first time was with Abang Dib, the day we bought him his new rocker or "kerusi gedik gedik". Abah said it worth every penny. Adib shaked the hanging toy and he laughed aloud...that was awesome! I initially thought he actually crying. He broke 2 -3 laugthers and done with it for quite sometime, until the second time with bibik and the construction worker, whose name is Aris...what a coincidence! Bibik told me that Aris (the worker) just like "hi" to him and he laughed aloud a few times. We missed that!!

1 week before his 6mth birthday, he had his first taste of solid food. We started with pear and banana puree for the first week, then now, he's having apple and ....something... puree...Thought this weekend , we'll try baby rice on him.

We read in the net that, we should keep one kind of food for a certain period so that if anything goes wrong with your baby, you can figure out what actually caused them. Same goes with the quantity, starts with one table spoon and increase according to the baby's demand. Thus , that is what we did, one food for a week.

I can tell that he is enjoying his weaning.

He can also push himself upwards if you stand him on his feet. On clothing he now fits the 0-3months clothes, still ok with newborn size but not the "tiny baby" size.....

The change in sizes really measures his growth...apparently from as tiny as 1.1kg....

We had him bald for the second time last weekend. We initially thought we want to wait until "majlis akikah" but that will have to wait for another 2-3 months, depending on the house renovation progress, and by the time I think he will be like little Tarzan ....

So we shaved now and let it grows again for the "majlis potong jambul"..

So that's all for now........... love him so dearly....

Chicken pox and "Sunat"

Last 2 weeks was a school holidays and unfortunately Adib was down with chicken pox..thank god, his, was a mild one...I am not really sure actually, if he really had a mild type or his antibody is just so strong that it able to fight the virus. But that is Adib, i dont remember him being conducive to sickness....irregardless if he had a fever, or having a bee stung his eyes or even when he had a fractured arm...he can just run around non stop except for sleeping.

He had the chicken pox close to 2 weeks, and throughout the period , he asked me daily whether he can kiss Aariz or hold him. You guys should know that Adib has been a very good big brother to Aariz, he can help to keep his eyes on him whenever we asked him to.Of course, having the virus inside the house, we were worried about Aariz so much. However, a doctor friend told me that if I have had a chicken pox, Aariz wont get the virus because being less than 6 months, my antibody still circulates inside him...hah..new information right? to me at least!

That's Adib...as for Angah , he was circumcised during the holidays.

This "sunat" has been postponed from last Dec to the first term holiday, and this round , we (mummy and abah) just could not come up with any other excuses...so as promised we have him circumcised. He didnt even want to wait for a proper kenduri ( which has to wait for the renovation to finish). Why? because he doesnt want to be the last boy to bersunat in his class.

The traditional method was chosen ,and we granted his wish. He had seen Along with his clamp and due to that he opted for his choice. A doctor told me that the traditional way is more accordance to the islamic requirement- how true is his statement, I cant tell as I did not look up for other opinions. Recovery period is 2 weeks compared to Along's which was one whole month...

Public Speaking and S.I.R

Angah has been very busy since the school started ...his activities include football, bowling, public speaking, Scouts, and even a study group....He's only standard five, but being as anxious as he is --about UPSR perhaps--- he just need to form a study group this year.

One of the highlights this year, was when he was chosen to represent his school for public speaking in a competition between schools in Kuantan.He told me, i think the day before the competition and I was like, "betul ke ni?"--with that question, i offered him a few bucks if he placed himself first to third place. To my surprise, he got 2nd place and that entitled him to the next round. He failed to pursue the next level , but I think that is remarkable for a first timer and given the lack of practice.

Then last month, he representing the school in Spell It Right. There were about 8-10 students in each group in the initial round of the competition. The initial round went on until they can announce a single winner. For his group finally, there were Angah and another boy competing with each other and it was like an endless sport. At the end, unfortunately Angah lost to the boy. It is comforting to say that the other contestant got a few easy words to spell, but personally I think Angah was not ready for the competition. So I told him, he should equip himself for next year. Angah is someone with very high winning spirit in him, he plays to win..I think even the judges including Wan Zaleha herself realised taht and she even mentioned hoping to see him again next year! Knowing his faith was ended there in the first round, he did shed some tears and I did too!
