Angah got 5As for UPSR

The result is out today and alhamdulillah Angah got his 5As. I always think Angah has done good preparation for his UPSR. He only got 4As for his trial but that result doubled his effort to an extent. We all went to the school at 10am sharp--mummy, abah , along, adib and our dearest aariz--we dragged aariz along eventhough that was his morning nap time :)

The first teacher we met at the canteen was Cikgu Shahrul and without hesitation he informed us the good news--"aimran ok"...and i had tears in my eyes. We didnt tell Angah but wait for Puan Nyon to make the annoucement. The result for SKIm was not that encouraging--the numbers of 5As students are only 18 and that was the same score as prior year, but overall percentage slightly increase if i heard correctly.

Angah was quite confident taht he would get his 5As from the day the exam ended and we were quite comfortably confident also because we saw his effort and based on his assurance on the exam itself. Because of that, we actually had bought him his G Shock watch last night--I asked abah if we were really buying before the result? Abah said yes...so he has got one of his UPSR presents. So Angah is done...now we patiently wait for PMR result. i am one proud mom today....Congratulations Angah

Angah and UPSR

Oh i left this blog way too long...many things happened between now and then..I am forcing myself (despite my tight schedule but hei today is friday) to make this posting...i must write about UPSR before it slips out of my memory...Yes UPSR is over early this month......I tot I will face 2012 UPSR easily ..no goosebumps... no stomach ache etc..for Angah has been very consistent in his results and study. I was in turmoil when Along sat for the exam as not even once through out his 6th year that he got 5As other than the UPSR itself. The best I remembered would be 4As and he can never go better than B for BM.

Angah on the other hand, very consistent ...he even arranged a group study especially towards the final 3 months before the exam..Of course they studied like 1 hour and played the Nerf for another hour but at least we can see the detemination. So me and Abah was very relax until the day he brought home his trial exam result...oh gosh he got B for his Pemahaman...He said he was all shacky doing the exam...oh gosh...that is not good at all when UPSR was like a month away. And my headache ..stomach ache and all came back into my body..I was extremely worried...worry that he cant take up the stress and panicking in the exam hall...but deep down I know Angah is not like that...but I was still worry!
Along being as cool as he is...commented one nite during dinner..." ko relax aje jangan stress stress, cool aje--ko pun dah belajar"...adoi lah Abang Long! But I agree after all Angah has done his part i.e to study!
Being anxious as he is...Angah prepared 2 sets of stationeries for the exam and each set has like 6 pencils, 2 erasers and a ruler....and he wanted all new...punya lah kan...and know what Along said when I asked him if he needs to buy anything for his PMR.." boleh pakai Angah punya, pen pun banyak lagi" ...ha..ha..ha..ha..adoi...turmoil ke tak tu?????

And so happened UPSR started with Pemahaman...Angah was all worried adoiii....I told him to relax and said it is ok, if tak de rezeki for him to get A...because I know how much he has prepared himself...But inside me tuhan aje yg tahu..Thru out the3 days of  UPSR , me and Abah , we joined him for breakfast and kissed him good luck..

On that first day,  i decided to wait and met him after the first paper finished. So about 9am i went to the school....the teachers were all at the canteen waited and tehy had no access to the paper so not able to comment if the paper is ok or not...adoiii...

Then time's up for PEmahaman...some group has came out from the classes...the teachers took the paper from the students and start running throught the questions...so being as busy body as i am..I asked the them "susah tak??"..and the teacher replied " emm...susah ni  tricky soalan nya" ..
Ya Allah...at that instance, air mata dah mengenang dah...tragis kan????? I was so tragis lah...and Angah was still in the exam hall...in fcat his group was the last to come out...from afar i saw him , i was like a second away to cry but he was smiling away...he came to me , i asked him how was it..he said ok...Allah ..I was like phewwwwwwwwww.....the teacher checked his paper and he had 3 mistakes...insyallah an A!

Second day i went again to the school after the first paper ended and the gate was locked ha..ha..ha..I got the message cikguS!!!!!!!!!

Alhandulillah the UPSR is over...so tawakal aje..ada rezeki ada lah...kalau tak de yg terbaik jugak dari Nya!
Angah is on Fb now ..he been telling me that right after UPSR ..he will be everywhere ..in FB, Twitter, Instagram..you name it...nak build up reputation again and get new girlfriends...adoiiii....

PMR is one week away...wahahahhahahahhaha...

Headboy SKIM 2012

Finally angah was announced SKIM head prefect for 2012. It was indeed the longest wait ever not only for Angah but for both mummy and abah. The trial was like from end of last year then they were down to 3 shortlisted...interviews so more...trial on public speaking and so on.
Deep down I know the title would be his but of course we do not want to be over confidence after all
rezeki di tangan tuhan. All we did was giving his encouragement and support and of course kids need to know that they are still d same in our eyes with or without the title....I just do not want him to feel so bad
if tbe position is meant to be other's. Angah is someone with very strong competative spirit even the teachers acknowledge that....i think that is positive but at the same time we must understand and be
receptive to failure...that is something we need to instill and keep reminding him.
so congratulations angah....i told him with that position he got to uphold the responsibility well, be kind dan humble...juga pesan dia jangan nakal sangat, jangan buli orang....at times he can up to some kind of
nuisance jugak.....yesterday evening jugak back from work dah marah dia se-das....gaduh dgn along
terjerit terlolong kat luar rumah maghrib hari....kids being kids kan......

those are my boys.....love all of them so dearly....

Aariz and Aimran's 2011 birthday

I feel like it was only recently i gave birth to my precious baby Aariz and in a blink he is now 1 year....emmmm...not a blink lah..like a few blink blink and wallah...besar dah anak kita. He was about 3kg in March i.e. 3 months after his birth...so by right, his adjusted age , we think should be around 9 months now.
Having said that, legally he is still 1 year old. Aariz is now learning to sit on his own, loves playing with his toys...and can be more expressional these days when you talk and play with him....and he still very much into his Baby TV....
I think I will have problem to get him concentrate on his studies later on...if taking Along's as an example...Along , when he was little we bombarded him with all the disneys' movies...he could spend hours in front of the tv and he can do that until now...erkkkkk...anyway...

****in february 2011 at about 1.8kg****

During this time last year, everything about Aariz was rather uncertain...every now and then, the paeds would unveil his progress and told the worst scenarios...that was difficult to handle, most of the time I ended up with tears. Abah and Mummy, we tried our best to stay strong for each other and of course to convey the positive vibe to Aariz.
***still think he is the cutest newborn---basically this is how the unborn baby looks like snuggling in moms' tummy--masyallah***

That devastating phase is over insyallah, and now we cherish beautiful moments every minutes and every day. Aariz is also so lucky to have the 3 abangs who love him so dearly and always openly showing their affection towards him. All praise to Allah.

Another Sagitarian that we have in the family is Angah...he is 11 years old now, and will sit for his UPSR next year...Of course we are aiming for 5As....a bright boy indeed but can be rather complacent also. The truth is mummy yg takut lebih...the boys macam tak de perasaan aje...very the selamba! For Angah, wishing him happy birthday, semoga jadi anak yg soleh insyallah...berjaya di dunia dan akhirat....and I also hope he can control his anger....He can easily loose his temper.....and he tend to response too quick that he leave the thinking part to later. To handle that Abah is giving constant reminders....in fact too constants I think ha..ha..ha...and now Adib is like a tape recorder "ishhh.... Sagi ni..."... Loving all of them so completely!

"Spender" --a.k.a seluar katok

The title is a bit alarming right? Seems like it doesnt suit a family blog but i just got to share this story. So one nite during dinner--the usual time for the boys to share their story of the day--their activities etc--Angah told us about some standard 2 children playing with a "spender" , throwing it around with a stick. After a while one of the children, asked another child to throw the spender to Angah. I feel like there's missing thread in the story emmmm...anyway, the silly little chap did threw the spender to Angah and that was a wrong choice obviously.
Being Angah, with a slightly extra dose of Javanese blood in him--as what abah likes to refer to define or explain "uncontrollable anger"--Angah actually scolded and slapped the unfortunate little boy.
I knew that he would get to that. I have taught him a few times, the easiest way to handle anger, if you are angry-standing, you should sit, if that doesnt work you should lie down...and had also reminded him that anger is evil. Of course, i scolded him and repeated again about anger is evil...told him, he should change and learn to handle his anger or he will one day lose all his friends...I told him, he should have just warned the boy... and of course, he defended himself telling me it was not a hard slap--(i really hope that was the actual thing)--just a mere touching on the kid's face with open hand...and that slap came after his warning not to fooling around with him.
Then suddenly while we were debating, our dear Dennis the Menace, interfered and said this,
" kalau Adib, Adib tak marah mummy! Adib amik spender tu letak atas kepala aje"...and how do you respond to that?
We all laughed out loud...betul betul LOL....there you go Adib with his out of the box response, which always full with some peculiar ideas again and again

SKIM 2011 Sport Day

SKIM organised its "Sport Day" last sunday. With Angah holding the olahragawan title last year, this sport event was awaited by all of us, ---basically we are concerned if he can retain the title this year. Unlike last year (whereby he participated in 4 events), this year max for each student is only 3 events, so he had 3 track events i.e. 100m, 200m and 4X100mUnfortunately, Angah failed to keep his title, lost it to a standard 6 boy...Angah missed by one gold as he got a silver for the 100m run. The run is one thing but the best part for this year event was some drama surrounding a new pair of track spikes. I think I have mentioned before that his track talent is inherited from Abah. Abah was once a upon a time a sprinter. Thus Abah has all the required knowledge about the preparation--food, day-before prep, the field gear etc. We were told about the event at the very last minute, like two days before when Angah mentioned that he wanted to buy a running shoes. That saturday we went shopping to get him his new pair. It was not easy to find spikes, we went to 2 malls before we found them . There are only 2 available types for kids and we bought him the better pair of the two. However, what Angah has in mind is Nike Mercurial which dont even have his size and that shoes are for soccer. Thus , he reluctantly tried the spikes that we chose and pulled a long face. We bought the shoes anyway.

Regardless of Abah's reminder that the track spikes are to be worn without socks, he actually did and didnt even bother to tie the shoe laces properly. I think he's showing his anger and being miserable but he told me it was unintentionally. As a result , he lost his first games...He was so dissapointed that he made a lot of fuss--blaming the shoes-- in the middle of the field right after he finished the line....if only there's no teachers and friends, he would get a spank from me..Despite of that , I was worried knowing his determination in winning, so I asked Abah to console him. So Abah went to him, gave him a few "inspiring" words ( i think) and he was ok rightafter--personally we think he could have won that 100m run if only he listened earlier. True enough, his second run for the 200m, he managed to secure a gold and started to smiling away. Being a pemangku PIBG for the day, Mummy helped to present medals for a few events which inlcudes Angah's 200m. Then he won his second for 4X100m....

Only then, he told us, it was easier with the spikes...Abah final words to him was "in life be humble and dengar cakap mak ayah , jangan jadi sombong"....
He replied " Angah mana tahu".....We think he learned a good lesson that day...

Finally the overall score seeing a tie between the Red and Green teams thus they shared the title as the Best team of the year.

However, for some reason..the red team was holding the trophy like they won it alone.

Ada pulak budak standard one sorang terselit...

Chicken pox and "Sunat"

Last 2 weeks was a school holidays and unfortunately Adib was down with chicken pox..thank god, his, was a mild one...I am not really sure actually, if he really had a mild type or his antibody is just so strong that it able to fight the virus. But that is Adib, i dont remember him being conducive to sickness....irregardless if he had a fever, or having a bee stung his eyes or even when he had a fractured arm...he can just run around non stop except for sleeping.

He had the chicken pox close to 2 weeks, and throughout the period , he asked me daily whether he can kiss Aariz or hold him. You guys should know that Adib has been a very good big brother to Aariz, he can help to keep his eyes on him whenever we asked him to.Of course, having the virus inside the house, we were worried about Aariz so much. However, a doctor friend told me that if I have had a chicken pox, Aariz wont get the virus because being less than 6 months, my antibody still circulates inside him...hah..new information right? to me at least!

*********practising his acting skill*********

That's Adib...as for Angah , he was circumcised during the holidays.

**********the Before face***********

This "sunat" has been postponed from last Dec to the first term holiday, and this round , we (mummy and abah) just could not come up with any other excuses...so as promised we have him circumcised. He didnt even want to wait for a proper kenduri ( which has to wait for the renovation to finish). Why? because he doesnt want to be the last boy to bersunat in his class.

The traditional method was chosen ,and we granted his wish. He had seen Along with his clamp and due to that he opted for his choice. A doctor told me that the traditional way is more accordance to the islamic requirement- how true is his statement, I cant tell as I did not look up for other opinions. Recovery period is 2 weeks compared to Along's which was one whole month...
*************the After face**********

And these are how the 2 weeks holidays passed by.......

Public Speaking and S.I.R

Angah has been very busy since the school started ...his activities include football, bowling, public speaking, Scouts, and even a study group....He's only standard five, but being as anxious as he is --about UPSR perhaps--- he just need to form a study group this year.

One of the highlights this year, was when he was chosen to represent his school for public speaking in a competition between schools in Kuantan. He told me, i think the day before the competition and I was like, "betul ke ni?"--with that question, i offered him a few bucks if he placed himself first to third place. To my surprise, he got 2nd place and that entitled him to the next round. He failed to pursue the next level , but I think that is remarkable for a first timer and given the lack of practice.

Then last month, he representing the school in Spell It Right. There were about 8-10 students in each group in the initial round of the competition. The initial round went on until they can announce a single winner. For his group finally, there were Angah and another boy competing with each other and it was like an endless sport. At the end, unfortunately Angah lost to the boy. It is comforting to say that the other contestant got a few easy words to spell, but personally I think Angah was not ready for the competition. So I told him, he should equip himself for next year. Angah is someone with very high winning spirit in him, he plays to win..I think even the judges including Wan Zaleha herself realised taht and she even mentioned hoping to see him again next year! Knowing his faith was ended there in the first round, he did shed some tears and I did too!

Dental Visit

I was up for my dental visit last saturday, this was the morning before Festival Hari Guru at ECM. Along had gotong royong at his school, Abah went to Summerman , so I brought Angah and Adib with me. After my filling and scaling, I asked Angah if he wants to do his checking and he said yes. Adib was not interested!!

He had his dental check up and so happened there was one tooth that need extraction, he was reluctant at first but Dr Anitha being soft spoken (even to us -adults) able to get Angah to agree at last...and thus, he had his first tooth being properly pulled out by a dentist.

After the dentist, was when we supposed to get Adib's hair cut but it was postponed until next weekend.
Angah was not supposed to eat for approx. 30 minutes after the tooth extraction but he was hungry thus we went to Mega Curry House (our favourite Indian food spot) for roti canai and roti bom (for Angah) and tosei (for Adib and myself).

Then it was "bayar" time - suddenly Angah took out his wallet and said he wanted to pay (remember the cash he received for being olahragawan).

mummy: tak pe lah you dont have to do that...
angah: betul angah nak belanja...
mummy :ok
angah : ehh napa pulak kurang dari 10 hinggit
mummy: dah ...abah tak de , along tak de...

adib: mummy nak lolly pop
mummy: mintak angah lah.....

Alang alang menyeluk pekasam...he..he..he....Thanks Angah!
